LogFileManager

"The ONLY IIS LogFile Management Tool on the Internet!"

Take a Tour of our best selling tool - LogFileManager - The Premier (and ONLY) IIS Logfile Management Tool!

SCREEN 1 LogFileManager - A Tour

First, a short "Did you know..." box alerts you to the fact that you can have LogFileManager prompt you for it's input, or, you can preconfigure the program to read its values from an ini file. This way, LogFileManager may be launched via a scheduler.

LogFileManager then asks if you would like to calculate data-transfer. If you choose not to calculate data-transfer, it will create the same report without the data-transfer values.

One of LogFileManager's most powerful features is that of logfile management.

You have the following options to manage logfiles.

All options: 1, 2, 3 or 4 will zip the logfiles.

Along with zipping them you can:

  • 1 = move the zipped logfile to a selected directory
  • 2 = move the zipped logfile to a selected directory and delete the logfile
  • 3 = copy the zipped logfile to a selected directory, and move the zipped logfile to the client's root path.
  • 4 = copy the zipped logfile to a selected directory, move the zipped logfile to the client's root path, and, delete the logfile from the logfile directory.

If you select one of options 1,2,3 or 4, you will be prompted for a directory to copy, or move the logfiles to. And, if you use analog.exe to calculate data-transfer (we highly recommend this method), you also have the following options to further manage logfiles.

Analog will create a complete logfile analysis report in html format and:

  • 1 = copy the report to the client's web root
  • 2 = copy the report to an admin defined path (directory)
  • 3 = copy the report to the client's web root, and move it to an admin defined path (directory)
